The project EMI – “Coordination and Advice Center for Business Start-ups, Migration & Integration” is an initiative within the framework of the business start-up offensive of the state of Saxony-Anhalt. It is funded by the European Social Fund and the state of Saxony-Anhalt. The EMI advice center is located in the Innovation and Start-up Center Magdeburg, Mittagstraße 16 p.
EMI Advice center opens up new prospects for migrants in Saxony-Anhalt. “Stay here and start up” is the motto.
On May 3, 2017, the EMI project team gathered well over 100 guests at the Magdeburg Chamber of Crafts and Trades and informed all interested migrant professionals, students and doctoral candidates about the topic of business start-ups.
The motto of the event was: EMI founds+educates+networks.
The EMI ball was used – an innovative invention by the ePlan consult GmbH project team. During the event, the EMI ball connected migrant founders, entrepreneurs, representatives of institutions and authorities and stimulated discussions on the topic of migrant start-ups.
Dr. Jürgen Ude, State Secretary for Economic Affairs, Susi Möbbeck, State Secretary for Social Affairs, and Rainer Nitsche, State Councillor for Economic Affairs, enriched the event with suggestions from a political perspective on the topic of the migrant economy and actively participated in the discussion rounds with migrants.
EMI – Project manager Elena Herrmann (ePlan consultGmbH) :
“It is the view that determines whether and how we see migration.” At the EMI Advisory Center, we attach great importance to intensive and individual support for migrant start-up projects. We look for optimal solutions for each founder and offer support beyond that. The EMI project focuses on people – that is our key to successful start-ups and integration.”
